Connected. A simple word, easy to understand but often forgotten, and disrespected. Sure we have our phones, letters, email and video conferencing so we 'feel' connected and it is a form of it, but a broader awareness must be undertaken. Not only for the betterment of ourselves and the rest of our Human Family, but the very Creation itself.
Truth is there are so many connections that we've become unaware of just how it works and why it's often called 'The web of Creation.' Think on this for a moment. Every morning, every day, what do we do? We wake up,
maybe yawn, stir around a bit and finally get up.Therein lies the miracle, an instant of Universal Awareness.
maybe yawn, stir around a bit and finally get up.Therein lies the miracle, an instant of Universal Awareness.The very second we draw in that waking breath, we have instantly shared a breath with the entire air breathing population in Creation. When our feet hit the floor we become connected to everything that walks and crawls upon the Earth. Every mineral, even gold, has it's trace elements in our bodies connecting us to that world.
If we ride the DNA double helix we'll see some rather unusal connections. We all have skin, and it's structure is given to us by the humble cabbage. Given recent circumstances in the political world we'd be hard pressed not to rightly assume more than a few cabbages seem to be running things. Got a relative who has a super sense of smell? Yup, me too. Hard to believe that makes us connected to fruitflies!!! It wasn't all that long ago that the State of California declared war on our fruitfly relatives. A quick look at the planet and we could rightly say they've declared war on Mother Earth too. Where does this trail go??
Connectedness,or rather inter-connectedness, is how all things exist. Plants makes oxygen, we make CO2. We supply each other the means to Life. The same is true for every compound found in the human body. They share a common root. Science has proven everything in the Universe exists within our bodies making us more 'star humans' than earthlings. Once again a larger connection is known. Everything in the Universe is within ourselves, and all these things must be in order for everything else to be. It's all those little connections to everything that we don't even think about, that makes us what we are. That is why we are taught to Respect All Things and to be Responsible to All Things. In the doing so we stay consciousily connected to the Creation and take the sustaining of it more seriously. Our connections make us strong because all of creation is behind what we do. When we make decisions based on our connectedness and the impact on the future we are also connected to, we begin to make decisions based in wisdom... not profit margin.
To stand at the window, breathe in the air, observe all the Life around you, the grass, the trees, the animals, the sky, sun and clouds and feel the oneness of 'no seperations only connections.'
The trail ends where we started. Each ourselves but each other too. Each sharing the same hardships, loves and disappointments. Each needing the other to have Life.
They say 2012 is the year of Endings. Some think it's the end of the world. The end of the world is separated masses, separated ideals, goals and life schemes. But, in all that ending is a lot of beginning. Beginning to understand each other,beginning to work with each other, beginning understanding we feel with the same Heart and hold the Wonder of Life as the same. We begin to know... Connected.
